a suspensionless bus will not let me forget last night's blinding nauseating sickness moscow passes blurred famous churches statues buildings museums ( i can't remember ) until the shades of grey reveal red square i walk on stones rich in history my breath sucked out in open space ( walls distant enclosing silent ) a t.v. image explodes before me peter jennings live red square moscow i cannot see i cannot hear the parades of missiles or cries of revolution but i feel them beneath my feet
