waiting for sunrise
by James Morehead
the sun will speak in whispers today of magic and dreams and beauty splinters of light will draw as forward to a meeting place high above feathery clouds the same golden bands that bring us together wait to unite us for a wondrous journey it is early still as i wait for sunrise patient and calm in still summer darkness i close my eyes and feel that gold your slender hand in mine our souls swirling weightless a dream that escaped the prison of sleep floats alive in the rising dawn
for Mary on the day of our wedding
