Beyond (1990-Present)
Since graduating from university my poetry output has been sporadic – marriage, children, career have a way of consuming all available creative energy. The desire to write is always lurking, however, and here are a selection of efforts some recent, some distant.
- waiting for sunrise – written as a gift to my wife for our wedding day
- music for an abandoned warehouse – my mother, Patricia Morehead PhD, oboist and composer, composed a piece for voice and clarinet based on this poem, the piece was premiered in July 1996 at the Tailloires International Composers Festival in France. The piece has also been performed by CUBE Contemporary Chamber Ensemble at Columbia College, April 2001.
