watch
watch as the shadow turns into light
watch as the last rays of the sun fade, and all those stars start shining bright
watch as you let go and release 
and come back to all your heart needs 
watch as those blockages fade away 
and you begin searching for a way 
to return back to the home that you believed was lost 
your old life will be the only cost

watch as it crumbles and breaks 
revealing all those flaws and mistakes 
all that you held onto so tightly 
let them go ever so slightly 
and you will come to know 
they were merely keeping you down low

watch as you rise and fly high
all the way up into the vast night-sky 
breaking through those clouds of self-doubt and hate 
as you claim what has always been yours -
your destiny, your unique fate

watch as you come to recognize and see 
all of this was meant to be 
watch as you drop the fear 
as your path becomes clear

it is time, it is time to open up your heart 
let it be pierced, shard by shard 
by the remains of that broken glass 
the promises you made and did not keep 
those rose pedals that cut you so deep

watch as they all get carried away 
for now it is only you who’ll have a say 
in the outcome of this moment 
who’ll decide not to spend 
another day of this precious life wasted

follow that wild passion instead 
and watch, watch as you rise like a phoenix from those ashes 
watch as you burn with those flames that were meant to consume you 
watch as you take them and transform them 
into that which is true 
into that which is meant for you 
watch
