Splatter Festival 2021: “Poets Take the Mic” – Side Yard Stage – Sat Sept 18 2:30pm

DUBLIN, CA–Calling all Tri-Valley poets and poetry lovers! The City of Dublin Splatter Festival (Emerald Glen Park) is returning on Saturday September 18 and includes a Side Yard Stage for local artists, musicians and performers. City of Dublin Poet Laureate James Morehead is hosting a 45-minute “Poets Take the Mic” performance (Sept 18 – 2:30pm) featuring local poets and spoken word artists. All performances will be appropriate for a general audience. Confirmed performers include spoken word artists and rapper Solachi Voz, San Ramon Poet Laureate Jenyth Jo, The Writer’s Spotlight and more.

The poetry performance will take place on Saturday September 18 from 2:30pm – 3:15pm on the Side Yard Stage (map below). Dublin’s 2021 Splatter Festival features a full day of family-friendly entertainment on three stages. Look for a loud, lively party on the Main Stage, community and multi-cultural performers in the Amphitheater, and local acoustic musicians and performers on the Side Yard Stage. Enjoy demonstrations and participate in free art activities throughout the festival. Splatter also includes carnival rides as ticketed activities.

James Morehead recently hosted the first Poetry and Pizza Open Mic at Patxi’s Pizza (Dublin) which featured 20 poets, 10 artists from the Dublin Arts Collective, and a full house of poetry and pizza aficionados.

Performers will be advertised on the City’s webpage and social media accounts, and may sell SWAG at the event.
